NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4090 Graphics Cards

NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace architecture powers the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU. It provides a high-performance gaming experience and unmatched productivity for graphical workloads. This card houses 3rd Generation Ray Tracing cores, 4th Generation Tensor cores, plus Lovelace Generation CUDA cores. It makes quick work of memory-intensive applications such as 3D modeling and rendering with high-speed 24GB GDDR6 memory. This time, NVIDIA launched a new generation of RTX 40 series graphics cards, and ASUS also launched the flagship ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC graphics card.

He has written about tech for the best part of three decades, and writes books in his spare time (his debut novel – ‘I Know What You Did Last Supper’ – was published by Hachette UK in 2013). Over in the UK, the most affordable RTX 4090s we could find were pitched at £1,790 (Overclockers) and £1,800 (Scan, eBuyer – the latter did have an ex-display model for £50 under that, mind, but that doesn’t really count). Compare that to the MSRP of £1,579, and while it’s not nearly as bad as the situation in the US, prices are clearly up by a fair old chunk.

A high-quality diecast frame, shroud, and backplate tightly brace the PCB and strategically steer airflow. An abundance of clay-based thermal pads provide additional heat dissipation for board components. Rapid Core Scaling scales the optimal number of cores and operates them at higher frequencies, delivering more performance for intensive creative work and STEM apps while on the go. /r/hardware is a place for quality computer hardware news, reviews, and intelligent discussion.

This means if you were thinking about buying a Lovelace flagship, it might be best to play a waiting game, and hang on until early 2024 when hopefully NVIDIA will debut some tempting Super cards. As a result, prices have shot up in China, and graphics card makers are likely trying to get RTX 4090 inventory out there to capitalize on the profits that can be reaped currently. Especially as the 4090 ban may be pushed back a bit yet, so there could be more breathing room to sell those GPUs quickly – and given current demand in China, it shouldn’t be difficult to flog off any shipped 4090 stock sharpish.

Instead, many of PC peripherals and accessories I use to compliment my gaming rig aren’t all that expensive. I’ve listed a few of my favorites below, from an excellent portable keyboard to perhaps the best wireless mouse you can buy today… or at least an extremely close cousin of it. However, when selecting a power supply, it’s crucial to account for the power consumption of the entire system. Therefore, add together the TDP of your GPU and CPU, then multiply the sum by 2. For instance, if you pair GeForce RTX 4090 with Intel Core i K, which has a TDP of 125W, you should aim for a power supply around 1200 watts.
